The class has started, and at this time we don’t have any further openings. If you’d like to be on the wait list, email AlbanyCERT@gmail.com — when we plan our next training, wait-list members get an early heads-up and the first opportunity to sign up, before it’s announced publicly.
CERT training is free; the City of Albany and Albany Fire Department cover training costs and each graduate’s CERT backpack and gear.
What you’ll learn
The FEMA CERT Basic curriculum: disaster preparedness, fire safety, medical operations, light search and rescue, team organization, disaster psychology, and terrorism awareness — plus a hands-on skills day and final exam. Graduates are prepared to help organize their neighbors and support professional responders in the first hours after a disaster.
